Keta Business SHS who tricked teachers to visit boyfriend found dead
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the body of a schoolgirl who was found dead in a pool of water at Kasoa in the Central Region. The tragic incident happened on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025.
In a statement released on June 24, 2025, the GNFS said it received a distress call at 10:02 p.m., which prompted the immediate dispatch of a rescue team. Fire officers arrived at the scene by 10:28 p.m. and managed to retrieve the body at 10:42 p.m.
The deceased, identified as Gloria Segoe, was a student of Keta Business Senior High School located in the Volta Region.
According to reports, Gloria had been granted permission by her school to visit her grandmother in Agbozome. However, she reportedly traveled instead to Kasoa, allegedly to spend time with her boyfriend. She is believed to have stayed with him for almost three days.
The GNFS noted in its statement that the boyfriend later turned himself in at the Kasoa Police Station after hearing about the incident. He told police that he had gone to work earlier in the day and was later informed of the unfortunate development.
The girl’s body has since been handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further investigations.
The GNFS praised its team for their quick and professional response to the emergency. The service also extended its condolences to the family of the deceased and took the opportunity to encourage students and young people to be mindful and responsible in planning their movements.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Gloria’s death are still ongoing.
