Kotoko fan dies after stabbing in violent scenes at Nsoatreman match

Asante Kotoko, in a statement, claims that a fan has died after being stabbed during violent scenes at their Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman.
The match, played at Nana Konamansah Park in Nsuatre, ended in a 1-0 defeat for Kotoko following a late goal from substitute Gabriel Bonnah.
However, the off-field violence has overshadowed the result.
Kotoko stated that tensions were high from their arrival at the stadium, with sections of the home crowd displaying hostility.
The situation escalated as missiles were thrown at the Kotoko bench multiple times, creating an unsafe environment for players and officials.
The club’s head of media suffered a serious ear injury after being struck by a flying object.
The violence worsened when supporters invaded the pitch, attacking Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara while continuing to hurl objects at him.
Amid the chaos, a fan was stabbed and later died at the hospital, according to Kotoko’s statement.
The club has strongly condemned the violence and is demanding a thorough investigation.
