Let’s all of us throw our support to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia – Kennedy Agyapong

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has accepted the outcome of the party’s presidential primary and has urged his supporters to embrace unity based on mutual respect.

Speaking after the Electoral Commission declared the results at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Saturday, January 31, Mr Agyapong said he had accepted the outcome and pledged his support to the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“I stand before you to pledge my support and also to accept the results declared by the EC. The delegates have spoken, and I want to plead with my supporters that they should stay calm and respect the results and help all of us to work together to win the 2028 elections,” he said.

He encouraged his supporters to take the outcome in good faith, noting that both victory and defeat are part of the democratic process.

“I want to thank my supporters and advise you that in an election, you can win and lose. So if you lose, you need to accept it in good faith,” he added.

Mr Agyapong again called for unity within the party, stressing that it must be built on respect for differing views.

“So let’s all of us throw our support to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer, and all I say is NPP we need unity in the party, but unity comes with respect. we have to respect each other’s views,” he stated.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia won the NPP flagbearer race with 110,643 votes, representing 56.48 percent. Kennedy Agyapong placed second with 46,554 votes, representing 23.76 percent, while Dr Bryan Acheampong came third with 36,303 votes, representing 18.53 percent.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum placed fourth with 1,999 votes, representing 1.02 percent, while Kwabena Agyei Agyepong finished fifth with 402 votes, representing 0.21 percent…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
