Mama Acheampong reveals how a top female personality begged her to convince Lumba to marry her 

Daddy Lumba’s former school teacher, Mama Acheampong, has revealed how a well-known female media personality once pleaded with her to help her marry the late music icon.

In an interview on Atinka FM, Mama Acheampong shared that many women admired Daddy Lumba for his good looks and talent, with some going to great lengths in hopes of becoming his wife. Despite the attention he received, Lumba remained committed to his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, for many years before Odo Broni entered his life.

According to Mama Acheampong, the unnamed media personality approached her directly, expressing desperation to marry the highlife legend. “She came to me and said, ‘Mama, talk to your son for me. Even if he marries me for just one year and divorces me, I’ll be happy,’” she recalled.

Though she declined to reveal the celebrity’s identity, Mama Acheampong emphasized that the interest in Lumba was overwhelming at the time.

She also used the interview to clear misconceptions about Daddy Lumba’s character, especially regarding rumours of promiscuity. “He wasn’t promiscuous at all. It was rather women who chased him. He was a very calm and gentle boy,” she told host Saddick Adams.
