Minority MPs clad in red and black to protest suspension of MPs

Minority Members of Parliament on Tuesday, January 4, 2025 were clad in red and black to protest Speaker Bagbin’s decision to suspend four MPs for the chaotic incident on Thursday, January 30.

The four MPs were suspended on Friday, January 31, 2025 after a chaotic scene during ministerial vetting last Thursday.

On resumption of Parliament for their fourth week sitting, the Minority MPs were seen dressed in red and black attire singing patriotic songs and party anthems to register their displeasure about the suspension of the MPs.

The Minority caucus on Monday, February 3, 2025 in a press briefing vehemently opposed the Speaker’s decision, arguing that it’s a violation of the rights of their MPs who did not have fair hearing.

Also, barricades were mounted at the Parliament House while the Marshals were positioned at the entrance of the conclave guiding the entry of the MPs.
