NPP is “solid” and ready for the 2028 general elections – Amin Adam

Following the decisive victory of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary, former Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has warned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the NPP is solid and ready for the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in an interview with JoyNews at the NPP National Headquarters amid celebrations on Saturday night, January 31, 2026, Dr Amin Adam said the primary results have united the party and laid the foundation for a strong national campaign.

He said the level of support shown by delegates, including those who held a midnight vigil at the Dome Kwabenya Football Park, reflects the party’s readiness to rally behind Dr Bawumia’s leadership.

“You will see in the days ahead that this party [NPP] is solid, and we have three years to get our acts together, to put our acts together and face our opponents,” Dr Amin Adam said.

He also sent a direct message to the opposition.

“The NDC should beware. We are coming, and we are coming gallantly.”

The remarks point to the NPP’s focus on the 2028 general elections.
