NPP Oti regional secretary position gets new contestant
Felix Owusu Gyimah, a former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly, has officially declared his intention to contest the position of Oti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a statement addressed to party faithful in the Oti Region, Mr Owusu Gyimah said his decision to seek the office is driven by humility, resolve and a deep commitment to the values and principles of the NPP, which he described as “the enduring beacon of Ghana’s progress, unity, and development.”
He pledged to work tirelessly to promote the interests and ideals of the party, stressing his readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure the NPP’s continued growth and success in the region. According to him, the Oti Region stands at a critical point, requiring strong administrative leadership and effective coordination to strengthen the party’s structures.
Mr Owusu Gyimah highlighted his extensive experience within the party, particularly his role as a member of the Oti Regional Communication Team, where he contributed to crafting campaign messages, countering opposition narratives, coordinating media engagements across radio and social media platforms and building strategic alliances to expand the party’s reach.
He also outlined his long history of service within the NPP, having served as TESCON Secretary at the University of Education, Winneba (Kumasi Campus) during the 2008/2009 academic year, Constituency Assistant Secretary and Acting Secretary, two-term Constituency Secretary and Dean of Constituency Secretaries in the Oti Region.
Beyond party roles, Mr Owusu Gyimah cited his professional experience as Project Assistant and District Director at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), as well as his tenure as MCE for Nkwanta South, as evidence of his competence in administration, leadership, project management and stakeholder engagement.
He expressed confidence that his background has prepared him adequately to serve as the region’s chief administrative officer of the party, particularly at what he described as a challenging period for the NPP in the Oti Region.
