“Our 2029 President” – Watch as NPP supporters hail Bawumia at NEC meeting

The leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) held a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Accra on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

The meeting, which took place at the Alisa Hotel, brought together several high-ranking figures of the party. Among those present was former Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who remains a central figure in the party’s political future.

Reports indicate that the NEC meeting focused on several key matters, including a constitutional review process aimed at strengthening the party’s internal structures and ensuring unity ahead of the next presidential primaries and the general elections.

As Dr. Bawumia emerged from the meeting, a crowd of enthusiastic NPP supporters gathered outside, showing their strong support for him. In a video that has been circulating on social media, the supporters were seen chanting and singing his praises, calling for him to once again lead the party into the next presidential election.

“No change, no change, obiaa boa,” they chanted, meaning “everyone else is lying, no change.”
“No change for 2028, Bawumia, no change ooo. It’s your turn to lead us, our 2029 president, the humble leader, father for all,” the supporters sang passionately.
