In a Facebook post on Wednesday, December 11, Mahama reflected on his meeting with outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra and shared his thoughts on the future of Ghana’s democratic process.
Mahama emphasized the significance of the electoral process, noting that despite the anxieties and concerns leading up to election day, Ghana had once again demonstrated the strength of its democratic systems. He underscored that both the nation and its democracy had emerged victorious from the recent elections.
“Democracy and Ghana are the winners following the electoral process. Despite all the anxieties people had ahead of the election and voting day, Ghana has done it again,” Mahama wrote.

“We can be sure that our democracy is safe, and by working together across bipartisan lines, we can continue to deepen and consolidate it,” he added.
