Patrick Boamah Declared Winner of Okaikwei Central After Recount
Patrick Yaw Boamah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been declared the winner of the Okaikwei Central parliamentary seat following a re-collation exercise conducted at the Electoral Commission’s Greater Accra Regional Office.
The re-collation overturned an earlier declaration that had announced Baba Sadiq of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner. Boamah secured 21,099 votes, while Sadiq garnered 19,368 votes.
Boamah’s Victory Speech
In his victory speech, Boamah expressed heartfelt gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support. He pledged to focus on development initiatives and to advocate for the needs of Okaikwei Central in Parliament.
“In elections, to compete is part of democracy. To lose is part of democracy, and to win is also a part of democracy. So, let me congratulate my competitor, the NDC, and also use the opportunity to thank the teaming supporters of the NPP in Okaikwei Central and the national party,” Boamah stated.
He added, “We fought a good fight and waged a very good campaign. God has been so good to us and for giving us victory.”
