Photo of the forestry guard who was discovered dead in bush after manhunt
The body of a 37-year-old forestry guard, Mr. Daniel Obeng, who had been missing since July 4, 2025, has been found in a bush at Tutukpene in the Nkwanta South Municipality.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Michael Kwabena Asiedu, the Divisional Police Commander for the area in the Oti Region, confirmed the discovery to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
The search effort, which involved police officers, forestry officials, and community members, came to an end on July 11 when the body was discovered.
According to Mr. Christian Obeng, the father of the deceased, Daniel has since been laid to rest in his hometown of Guama, located in the Jasikan Municipality.
Police have since opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The outcome is expected to provide more clarity on what may have led to the unfortunate incident.
