Dreams FC battle Accra Hearts of Oak Thursday

Dreams FC will do battle with former champions Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday. Dreams FC have two outstanding games against Nations FC and Bechem United following their participation in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

The Still Believe lads go into the game buoyed by their impressive 2-0 win over Nsoatreman FC on Sunday. The Dawu based club have won three, lost one and drawn one in their last 5 games – accumulated 25 points and sit in 11th place in the table. Dreams FC have recorded 17 points, scored 13 and conceded 6 goals at home.

Accra Hearts of Oak were off to a flying start to the second half of the season until they were held by Bofoakwa Tano on Monday – having started the round with two wins on the spin against Real Tamale United (3-0) and Nsoatreman FC (2-1).

Dreams FC have hosted Accra Hearts of Oak three times since 2020/21 season with Dreams FC winning one and drawing two. Dreams FC beat Hearts of Oak 2-0, in 2020/21, drew 2-2 in the 2021/22 season before holding out for a goalless draw in in the 2022/23 season.

Real Tamale United will host GoldStars at the Golden City Park in Berekum on Thursday. While Real Tamale United have been on the blink in their last three league games, GoldStars have picked up two wins and one defeat since the resumption of the League.

Real Tamale United currently bottom of the league table with 18 points and have conceded the most goals in the league, having won 1, drawn 1 and suffered 3 defeats in their last 5 games.

The Tamale lads have accumulated 15 points, scored 12 and conceded 11 league goals and are the second club with fewer home points.

The Royals who are 12th in the league table with 25 points, have not scored in their last three League games having won 1, drawn 1 and suffered 3 defeats in their last 5 games.

Nations FC have one outstanding game against CAF Confederation Cup campaigners Dreams FC. The newly promoted side have sold an impeccable campaign as they lie in 4th place with 31 points. 

Nations FC have managed 9 points – scored 3 and conceded 8 goals – as they beat leaders FC Samartex in their last away game. 

Kwabena Boateng, Mohammed Alidu, Stephen Asare, Ramin Doobi, Nicholas Mensah, Morris Fuseini, Joseph Mereku, Mohammed Suleman, Kamal Suraje and Samuel Tenedu are available for selection for Legon Cities.

Nations FC forward Asamoah Boateng Afriyie has netted 7 league goals and looks set for another appearance on Thursday. Prince Acquah, Sadiq Alhassan, Michael Awuah, Emmanuel Boahene, Abdul Karim, Victor Oduro, Bismarck Oppong, Razak Simpson and Nafiu Sulemana are also ready to feature. 

Finally on Sunday, Bofoakwa Tano will welcome Kpando Heart of Lions to the Coronation Park at 3pm.
