Police arrest popular actor after months of leaving rehab
Nigerian actor Jerry Williams has reportedly been arrested by the police.

He was taken from his residence in Delta State on the morning of Monday, July 21, 2025.
The arrest was reportedly aided by Nwafor Franklin, also known as Izutech.
Actor Stanley Ontop raised an alarm in a social media video, stating that Jerry was taken by force to Benin, Edo State.
He expressed concern over Jerry’s safety and accused Izutech of owing ₦2.5 million, allegedly collected from producers hoping to feature Jerry in upcoming movies.
Stanley also urged the public to hold Izutech accountable if anything happens to Jerry.
He wrote;
“Izu went to Jerry Williams house in the early hours of today 21st July 2025 and bundled him to Benin with the help of some Nigeria police. Let it be known that Jerry Williams is in Izu’s custody. If anything happens to Jerry, Izu should be held responsible.”
The incident follows Jerry Williams’ return to Nollywood after a rehabilitation break related to substance abuse.
In a separate development, a Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail to activist Scott Iguma, who is on trial for allegedly posting a false video and issuing threats.
Naija News reports the bail was set at ₦10 million.
Justice Friday Oghazi gave the ruling and stated that Iguma must present one surety with the same amount.
The surety must either own property within the court’s jurisdiction or be a civil servant of at least grade level 12 with the Federal or Lagos State Government.
