Former President John Dramani Mahama, has sent a message to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to start preparing their handing over notes to leave office after the 2024 general elections.
According to him, Ghanaians have witnessed the incompetence of the governing NPP and are waiting to vote massively for the NDC come 2024 to rescue the country.
He indicated that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led administration has mismanaged the country, which has resulted in the bad economy the country is currently facing, and assured that the NDC will rebuild the economy and bring back licences of banks which were wrongfully cancelled.
The former President noted that the NDC will govern the country with 60 ministers, deputies and appointees and that the appointees will not be given ex-gratia to cut down cost and rebuild the economy when voted into power.
He made this known at his post election acceptance speech at the Multipurpose Auditorium of the University for Development Studies (UDS) in the Northern Region.
Mr. Mahama lambasted the NPP for interfering in the work of journalists and assured that the NDC will investigate the death of the late journalist Ahmed Hussein-Saule and bring the perpetrators to book.
“The media must be given a conducive atmosphere to operate without threats and assignation and so we will speed up investigations of the Ahmed Hussein-Saule case and bring the perpetrators to book,” he stated.
He noted NDC will carry out an audit of all projects across the country and ensure that they are completed instead of starting new projects.
The former President urged NDC supporters to commence a campaign on all platforms to ensure that they win the 2024 general election massively to rescue Ghana.
