Chelsea chase new “top target” who will cost more than €50m – if they can fight off several other super clubs
Patrick Berger is turning into something of a transfer insider, and his latest missive includes a Chelsea mention.
The name Bakayoko is enough to strike fear into the hearts of most Blues fans given what a nightmare the signing of Tiemoue turned out to be. But there’s a new Bakayoko on the block, and he’s really impressing for PSV Eindhoven.
Berger reports that Johan Bakayoko, a 20 year old Belgian attacker, is a “top target” for clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, Chelsea, PSG, Dortmund and Man City.
After coming through the PSV youth ranks he broke into their first team last season and hasn’t looked back. He’s also picked up 9 senior Belgium caps already.

We have some idea of what he will cost, given a €40m Brentford approach was turned down in January. Berger says PSV will want €50m to €60m, and it’s easy to see that number increasing even more if some of those teams named above get involved.
