Prof. Gyampo Pledges Commitment to Fixing Wrongs as Ghana Shippers Authority CEO

Newly appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), Professor Ransford Gyampo, has reaffirmed his dedication to addressing systemic challenges in his new role, emphasizing that neutrality has no place in correcting wrongs.
In a Facebook post following his appointment by President John Dramani Mahama, Prof. Gyampo stated, “There can be no neutrality when one is tasked with helping to right what is wrong in the service of the nation.”
Expressing gratitude for the appointment and the overwhelming support he has received, he assured Ghanaians of his commitment to serving the country diligently. “Thank you, Prez Mahama, and humbled by the many congratulatory texts. I’ll serve Ghana,” he wrote.
A Respected Voice in Governance
Prior to his appointment, Prof. Gyampo was a distinguished professor of political science at the University of Ghana and an outspoken analyst on governance and national affairs. His firm stance on accountability, transparency, and institutional reforms has earned him recognition as an independent voice in Ghana’s political landscape.
His appointment aligns with President Mahama’s broader approach to governance, which has seen the selection of individuals perceived as non-partisan for key positions. This move has been widely praised as an effort to move away from the winner-takes-all political culture and promote merit-based appointments in public service.
Prof. Gyampo’s leadership at the GSA is expected to bring renewed focus on efficiency, transparency, and strategic growth in Ghana’s shipping and logistics sector.
