After the last couple of summers, Chelsea are getting a reputation as a team who like to hoover up young South American talents – and that’s getting all manner of players linked to us, usually by their agents trying to drum up interest.
That’s exactly what seems to be happening here with Internacional winger Mauricio.
Sport Witness have translated quotes from his agent Andre Cury, who confirmed the Blues are one of several European teams keen on the 22 year old.
“I know they like him a lot, but so far there have been no enquiries. He’s got several enquiries from Europe,” Cury is quoted as saying.
As always, we’re pretty wary about these things. Is it a real link or just a representative trying to make his client look more attractive?
On the other hand, we’ve shown we’re always keen on talents of that type, and it wouldn’t surprise us at all if Mauricio was added to the list with players like Deivid Washington, Angelo Gabriel and Andrey Santos.
