Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has delivered his verdict on one Chelsea player after his side beat Newcastle United 3-2 at Stamford Bridge last night.

It was the battle of the two inconsistent mid-table sides this season and it was a game that could have gone either way. Chelsea were poor in the first half and Newcastle were good, then in the second half the tide turned and Chelsea were good and Newcastle were poor.

Striker Nicolas Jackson had another decent game and also got on the scoresheet with a clever little backheel to guide in a Cole Palmer shot that turned into an assist.

Jackson has been getting better and better in recent games and is starting to find his feet and his confidence in a Chelsea shirt.

His manager Mauricio Pochettino has been explaining that this turn in form will hopefully see him become more clinical in front of goal.

In words picked up by Football London, Pochettino said on Jackson: “We need to understand players are young, they need to know first the Premier League and they need their teammates to perform. He is performing really well. He of course has quality. With more games, experience, he will be more calm in front of the goal and hopefully more clinical.”
