Sad news hit Pure FM

A devastating fire has gutted the studios of Kumasi-based Pure FM, leaving the facility in ruins.

The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, while a live broadcast was ongoing at the station’s Patasi premises.

Initial reports indicate that an electrical fault may have sparked the blaze, although the exact cause has yet to be confirmed as investigations continue.

Despite the prompt intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire caused extensive damage, destroying vital broadcasting equipment and infrastructure. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Following the incident, Pure FM has suspended its programming as management assesses the damage and cooperates with authorities.

The fire draws parallels to a March 2023 incident in which Silver FM, another Kumasi-based station, also suffered a fire outbreak during a live broadcast. In that case, a faulty air conditioner was suspected to be the cause.
