Sad news hits Super Eagles as key player may miss AFCON 2025

Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali may miss the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations because of injury, DailyNewsGhana reports.

According to the reports, Nwabali is currently struggling with both an ankle and hand injury.

He was said to have made the injury worse during the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs last month.

The 29-year-old has not played for Chippa United since he returned from the mini-tournament.

Chippa United head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi is also unsure if Nwabali will be ready for the AFCON.

“I don’t think he will make it, but when I was talking to him, he was confident that he will recover very soon,” he told SuperSport.
