Scrapping Info Ministry won’t lead to job losses

Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has assured workers in agencies under the Information Ministry that they will not suffer job losses.
There have been concerns about what the government intends to do with agencies under the Information Ministry, which is now defunct.
There is also worry among workers in these agencies about their future considering the government’s change of direction.
But speaking to the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, 2025, Ofosu Kwakye assured workers of these agencies under the Ministry that there will be no job losses.
He indicated that the government intends to merge some of the agencies under the ministry and revamp some to make them better and more efficient.
“If I were to sum up and give you a complete answer, nobody is going to suffer any job losses, but over time we will reduce the numbers, and these agencies will be made much more efficient going forward, but they will be under my supervision under the office of the president instead of being under a whole ministry,” he said.
