NIGERIA – A young Nigerian man has shocked many by choosing marriage over education, skipping his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) to tie the knot.
According to Nigerian blog Remedyblog, the young man decided to forgo his exams to marry a woman from the United States.
While his decision has stirred mixed reactions, some say it reflects a growing trend among young African men who see marrying foreign women as a path to better opportunities abroad.
Many believe that such relationships can open doors for travel and even permanent residency, which they view as a more valuable opportunity than passing WAEC and staying in their home country.
