One of Chelsea’s top manager targets looks further away than ever as exclusive reports “talk over a new deal” already underway
TeamTalk like to drop a little afternoon exclusive, and today they’ve gone with news about a potential replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.
It still feels like the Blues manager’s future is very much in doubt despite progress to the FA Cup semi final, and a lot will hinge on the final 11 league games on the season.
Fraser Gillan reports that Chelsea could be interested in Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi, who is in the middle of leading his team to another Serie A title.
It won’t be easy – there are a number of other top clubs out there looking for new coaches, and many of them can offer a better looking project than Chelsea. Plus of course Inter are keen to keep him, with “talks over a new deal opened only last week.”
It sounds like we’re pretty far down the list, and fans shouldn’t be thinking about dumping Pochettino with the expectation Inzaghi will walk through the door.
