Stop destroying me it is most unfair – Bryan Acheampong begs Ablakwa

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the NPP member of parliament for the Abetifi constituency, has responded to the continuing discussion around the purported sale of four SSNIT hotels to the legislator’s Rock City Hotel.

The accusations made against him by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the North Tongu Minister, are intended, according to the Minister of Agriculture, to damage and ruin his well-deserved reputation.

During a Tuesday, May 21, interview with Joy FM, the Abetifi politician cautioned his fellow parliamentarian not to damage his character and the reputation of Rock City Hotel Limited.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s remarks come after Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa had previously petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to look into a purported transaction involving the sector minister’s Rock City Hotel Limited and the SSNIT management.

Okudzeto Ablakwa filed a petition with CHRAJ stating that he believes there are procurement irregularities and a conflict of interest.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong responded by expressing his profound disgust with Okudzeto Ablakwa’s behavior, rejecting the accusations as baseless, and asserting that the assertions are an intentional attempt to discredit him and his reputation.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong said, “you are just adding things together and trying to destroy me and trying to destroy Rock City. It is most unfair, it is ‘un-Ghanaian’ and you should stop it.”

He asked the North Tongu MP to separate himself from his enterprises and, if he had any, to pose sincere inquiries.

“If you have issues with a corporate entity, ask questions. I will never stop you and nobody will stop you from asking questions but in the tangent that you [Okudzeto Ablakwa] are going, it has nothing to do with that.

“I am a politician and I can be okay with it . . . but note that you are not speaking the truth and CHRAJ will confirm all this to you,” Dr. Bryan Acheampong said.
