Stop printing T-shirts with Daddy Lumba’s name and picture, or you’ll be in trouble – Abusuapanin warns
The head of Daddy Lumba’s family, Kofi Owusu, has issued a stern warning to fan clubs and Ghanaian pastors after he and his relatives’ visit to the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The family head led a delegation to the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Region of Ghana to officially inform the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, about the death of the veteran highlife musician. Following their visit to Manhyia Palace, Mr Kofi Owusu made a public pronouncement before they began preparations for Daddy Lumba’s burial service.
The musician’s family head warned fan clubs against printing T-shirts in the deceased’s name without seeking authorisation from the family.
According to him, the late musician’s lawyers would take severe legal action against anyone who would flout the family’s directives.
He said:
“There are some people creating fan clubs and making numerous T-shirts and other stuff without informing the family for permission. If we see something like that, we will let our lawyer deal with you. If you make any malicious statement, you will hear from our lawyer because he (Daddy Lumba) is a royal from Otumfuo’s Palace.”
Mr Kofi Owusu also warned prophets who made false prophecies or individuals who would make false allegations about Daddy Lumba to desist from such bad practices.
