Suspected NDC irate youth besiege Ghana Gas office

Irate youth suspected to be members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have stormed the head office of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGCL) at Airport Residential area in Accra.

The youth stormed the premises on Tuesday, December 10.

In a video, they were captured attempting to forcibly open the main gate to the premises.

Their action comes despite the call made to supporters of the NDC by National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi to celebrate their victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections with moderation.

Sammy Gyami’s came in the wake of reports of violence and the tragic deaths of two NDC supporters in Akomadan.

Addressing the media in Accra on Monday, Sammy Gyamfi emphasized the importance of responsible celebration.

“Exercise restraint in your celebration. We must show that we are responsible citizens. You can’t engage in vandalism, attacks, or looting state properties; it is against the law. Ours is a law-abiding party. We want you to live to see Mahama sworn into office,” Gyamfi stated.

He further urged supporters not to attack any state institutions and to jubilate responsibly.

Although the Electoral Commission has yet to announce the official results, the presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has conceded defeat to the NDC’s candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
