Eden Hazard to return to Stamford Bridge with other legends for Soccer Aid this summer

Chelsea legends Eden Hazard and Frank Lampard are among the big names coming back to Stamford Bridge this summer for Soccer Aid this summer, it’s been announce.

The event, raising money for UNICEF, will take place in June. Mauricio Pochettino is also slated to attend – let’s hope that doesn’t get awkward. He also managed the “World XI” at the last Soccer Aid.

Hazard made the announcement on his social media pages:

“My Chelsea family – I am coming home on Sunday 9th June! I can’t wait to see you all again. Playing at Stamford Bridge was always amazing. We won so many trophies together there. Some of the very best memories I have in football – seven brilliant years. I miss them.

“As I enter a new chapter, we can write new history with Soccer Aid for UNICEF. Together, we can and will raise millions of pounds for children across the world. So, buy your tickets and let’s have a great day together in June”.

It will be an emotional return to Stamford Bridge for him, much more enjoyable than the defeat with Real Madrid he suffered first time around.

We’re sure the weeks and months to come will reveal more of the names involved. Taking place the week before Euro 2024 kicks off, it should be a festival of football fun to enjoy before the serious stuff starts.

Top England cricketer and football fan Stuart Broad is apparently set to make his Soccer Air debut, and regulars Usain Bolt, Mo Farah and Robbie Williams will be there too.
