Many people have different reasons to go to church; some go to pray, others go to enjoy praises and worship. However, for musician Michy, it’s an opportunity to do business.
She revealed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, that she hardly goes to church to worship.
According to her, anytime she sees a congregation, she sees an opportunity to sell and expand her business.
“I go to church once in a while. I go there to do business. I sell jollof, so where there are people, I see consumers of my food. If I come to your church and I offer you lunch, know that the next thing is cooking a buffet for you.”
The ‘Low Tempo’ hit maker admitted that she is more of a spiritual person than religious.
“I am a spiritual person and not religious. I sometimes pay my tithe to church and sometimes to people who actually need it. I pray a lot; every gospel song makes me cry. I have the connection with my God and I feel like my prayers are answered so fast for me.”
According to her, she pays her tithe either to beggars or the church. She also stressed that she prays and gets emotional whenever she hears any gospel song.

I would’ve preferred listening to the whole interview before commenting , however the part where she claims she sometimes gives her Tithes to a needy person is what makes it clear that she is very ignorant of the Scriptures and Truly not a Christian. There is nothing wrong with looking for business at the Churches because that is her business sense, but saying she “does not” go to church to “worship God” sounds quite sarcastic. It’s as if she’s mocking the same God she claims hears her prayers. If she said she goes to church at times and also takes the opportunity to create links for her business that would’ve been fine but to boldly spite the going to church to Worship God is very foolish on her part. I say so because the Bible said only a Fool says there’s no God so then how do you appear in Church where people are genuinely seeking God and listening to His word solely for your business and not give a damn that He dwells at that moment amongst His people.
Secondly Tithes are not for any poor people,never. TITHE is only a tenth of one’s income and so when you take out the tenth of all your income, the rest of the monies are yours. So if you want to help someone, why don’t you take from your monies left for you to do so,but rather you divert what is holy unto the Lord to a needy person and greedily keep yours. Tithes are not to be given to anyone, not even the poorest poor, because it is proof of your acknowdging by Faith that God is first in your business or work and the source of your strength and power to make wealth. Some of these so called celebrities are so full of themselves such that they don’t realise that their existence is by God’s Mercies and Provisions. So sad. She should repent from this mindset and it will help her.
I always tell people that the Bible has stated clearly that the end of this Workd will come and everyone will account for his or her life on Earth to the Holy One, the Father of Creation.
