Komenda College of Education trains staff and students in Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage

The management of Komenda College of Education has organized an informative training session for its staff and students on the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity.

The event, held on March 27th, 2024, was part of the college’s new lecture series called the “Assai Community Lecture Series,” which aims to provide insightful discussions on various topics.

The day-long programme, held under the theme “Leveraging on I.T for teaching, learning and supervision in the era of artificial intelligence (AI),” featured Dr. Justice Kwame Appati as the resource person.

Dr. Appati, a distinguished Senior Lecturer from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Ghana, shared his expertise in AI analysis and research with the attendees.

During his lecture, Dr. Appati emphasized the significance of integrating AI in education.

Using hand-on activities, he explained how the utilization of AI and Data Mining tools can revolutionize teaching, supervision, and learning processes, thereby optimizing academic endeavors.

However, Dr. Justice Kwame Appati also raised awareness about the ethical considerations associated with implementing AI in educational settings, emphasizing the importance of responsible usage.

During his closing remarks, the Principal, Very Reverend Professor Kwesi Nkum Wilson reaffirmed the college’s commitment to preparing its community for the challenges and opportunities presented by the 4th industrial revolution.

The Principal of Komenda College of Education, Very Reverend Professor Kwesi Nkum Wilson, expressed his commitment to ensuring that both the Staff and students are well-equipped for the fourth industrial revolution.
He highlighted the significance of empowering both staff and students with these essential skills, especially noting the benefit for Staff who are currently pursuing their PhDs in refining their theses with some of the cutting-edge tools exposed to.
