The glory of Kwesimintsim will be restored – MP-elect assures constituents

The MP-elect for Kwesimintsim Constituency, Lawyer Philip Fiifi Buckman says he is representing people of the area to ensure that the glory of the community is known.

In an interview with Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson on the Omanbapa Morning, on Monday, 9th December 2024, Lawyer Buckman said he has promised two major projects to the constituents. These projects, he said, will help bring back the dissipated glory.

“I had two major promises. Jobs for the youths and development. That is my vision. I have already started consulting stakeholders on how best to implement these projects.”

Speaking on his ‘historic’ win, Lawyer Buckman made it known he and his team prepared adequately for the elections. He said, “We had the executives and a team whose mindset was to change things. On my part, I did very well to make sure that the love Kwesimintsim Constituency showed me was reciprocated. I got closer to them for them to know me, my personality, and my plans for the constituency. I’m sure they believed and supported me. That is what brought about the difference.”

He therefore appealed to all stakeholders in the constituency to join him to restore hope to the constituency.

“This is the time for the job, so we invite everyone from the constituency to join us with their intellect and all they can use to make the constituency develop.”

On accountability and transparency, Lawyer Fiifi Buckman said he is going to make sure that officials who do not perform their duties well will be summoned.

“I said before the elections that when I win, I will summon Kojo Acquah because he has done a lot of shoddy work that he must answer to. Both him and his engineer must make sure the one who is at fault is dealt with. We need to collaborate to solve problems in the constituency,” he added.

The defeat of the incumbent NPP MP Dr. Prince Hamid Armah reflects growing voter dissatisfaction with the NPP’s governance. It also contributes to the NDC’s success in reclaiming multiple constituencies that were previously held by the NPP. Lawyer Fiifi Buckman secured 15, 801 votes (51.3%), while Dr. Prince Hamid Armah received 13,176 votes (42.77%).
