THE JANUARY OF EXPECTATIONS – Onlinetimesgh

Welcome to 2025 if I have not wished you a happy new year yet. I salute all comrades for what you contributed to ensure a resounding victory. Kudos to all of us.

January has been said to be the longest month of the year. It was an expression for civil and public servants simply because of salaries and payments, but it has also been very long for politicians who have not yet had their green letters.

Let me appreciate H.E. John Dramani Mahama for not giving a single excuse so far for where we are today. The people of Ghana are tired of excuses: Russia, Ukraine, COVID-19, opposition members, uncooperative Parliament, amongst others. What we need is to celebrate the deliverables. Your Excellency, you have held the bull by its horns, and we salute you.

For a government to be constituted in less than 14 days, and still meet the constitutional demand of over 50% from Parliament, gender and regional balance, and still have “touch not” expertise must be celebrated as a government ready to work for the people of Ghana.

We crossed seamlessly the trap of dumsor that was set for us and renegotiated the reduction of the cost of hajj ahead of the month of March.

A team of experts is at the same time preparing a blueprint for the commencement of the 24-hour economy, while another team is gathering information for the operation of recovering all loot. Graciously, the vetting of MMDCEs is almost done, and soon, the names will be announced.

If we say something is unprecedented, this is what we mean.

However successful a government will be, it can not meet the expectations of all in just a month. Admittedly, the green letters making the rounds can also put pressure paaa ooo. Heeeerrrr !!! Comrades, it’s early days, you will not be forgotten. I don’t envy the work of the Appointment Committee at all. So far, it’s encouraging. I know they are doing their ultimate best.

Fear not. The Lord that brought you this far will take you to the expected end. Keep hope alive. There are better days ahead
