The next NPP gov’t will come after you – Lawyer Maurice Apaw tells Sammy Gyamfi and Ibrahim Mahama
Former public officers and individuals who have managed state funds in Ghana often perceive calls for accountability as political witch-hunts, especially when initiated by a ruling party that had once faced similar scrutiny while in opposition.

A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that any actions taken against NPP members today will be reciprocated when the party returns to power.
Speaking on Wontumi FM, Lawyer Ampaw accused President John Mahama of targeting the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, after allegedly questioning his source of wealth.
According to Ampaw, such actions are politically motivated and will not go unanswered. He warned that when political power changes hands in 2028, the NPP will investigate and make similar allegations against leading members of the NDC, including Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, the head of the Ghana Gold Board, and Ibrahim Mahama, the founder of Engineers and Planners and brother of President Mahama.
He added that the NPP would not hesitate to subject these individuals to the same level of scrutiny and accusations, whether or not there is concrete evidence to support the claims.
