The Summary of Registered Voters and Polling Stations – The Ghana Circular
The 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in Ghana are drawing near. Political parties, independent candidates and their fanatics are increasing becoming anxious.
In a bid to ensure free and fair elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has released a table that reveals the number of voters eligible to partake in the elections.
On 7 November 2024, the EC, in response to the demands of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for regional summary on voters. The NDC made this demand after the EC has provided them with the certified voters register.
The summary of the certified voters register revealed that, the total number of valid voters were 18,774,159.
This number of certified voters is made up of 18,640,811 voters with biometric data, 131,478 special voters, and 1870 voters without biometric data.
The number of polling stations are 40,976.
The summary of certified voters reveals that a little more than half of the Ghanaians will decide their future in the December 7 elections if they all turn out and vote.
