They are blocking me from meeting Otumfuo – PNP Janet Nabla cries
Janet Nabla, Chairperson of the People’s National Party (PNP), has alleged that “influential government officials” are actively obstructing her efforts to oppose the removal of suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Esaaba Torkornoo.

Nabla claimed she was prevented from meeting the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Friday, July 25, 2025, despite receiving what she described as prior confirmation from his office.
She had earlier petitioned the Asantehene on July 1, 2025, requesting his intervention in halting the process to remove the Chief Justice.
Expressing her frustration, Nabla said she was “disappointed” with the Manhyia Palace. She pointed out that the Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, was reportedly granted an audience with the Asantehene at the same time she was denied access.
Nabla further accused “the presidency and other powerful government figures” of interfering with her efforts to stop the removal of the Chief Justice.
