Thieves break into church, drink altar wine and eat all sacraments before stealing church items

Kenya has recently been making headlines for several unusual incidents, and one of the most shocking involves a church break-in that has left an entire congregation in disbelief.

Thieves reportedly broke into ACK St. Matthew’s Mutithi Church in Kirinyaga, where they drank the altar wine, ate all the sacramental bread, and stole several valuable items.

According to reports from Tuko and The Kenyan Post, the incident occurred on the night of May 27, 2025. The intruders not only desecrated the holy elements, which symbolize the body and blood of Christ in Christian faith, but also made away with a piano used during Sunday services.

The theft was discovered by members of the church choir, who noticed the missing keyboard. The church’s Vice Chairman, Eliud Githaka, confirmed the unfortunate event, describing the scene as disturbing.

The act has disrupted the church’s preparation for upcoming services, particularly affecting the music ministry that depended on the stolen piano.

Police have launched an investigation and are pursuing the suspects, though no arrests have been made so far…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
