To say someone contracted me to pursue an agenda, that person must be mad – Prof. Frimpong-Boateng

Former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has dismissed claims that he has been “contracted” to damage the image of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) through his recent comments.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Prof. Frimpong-Boateng said suggestions that he is acting on behalf of external forces to undermine the NPP are unfounded, describing them as the result of a misguided mindset.

“To say that someone has contracted me to pursue an agenda to divert attention, that person must be mad,” he stated.

His comments follow remarks by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah, who said the party has been undergoing internal restructuring since the 2024 elections, including constitutional amendments to create a security and intelligence unit.

Mr. Koduah claimed intelligence reports showed that some individuals were working against the unity and peace of the party, alleging that Prof. Frimpong-Boateng’s comments were meant to cause division and distract from the party’s internal primaries.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng, however, rejected the claims, saying the party is drifting away from its founding principles.
