Award-winning Ghanaian singer Wendy Asiamah Addo, popularly known as Wendy Shay, found herself in an awkward moment during a visit to the Weija Palace on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Wendy Shay visited the palace ahead of the 2025 edition of her annual Shay Concert, scheduled for Saturday, November 22, at the West Hills Mall. She and her team paid a courtesy call on the Weija traditional leader, Nii Ayi Okufobour, to seek permission and protection before the event.
Upon arriving, Wendy met members of the traditional household, including an oracle who performed a cultural ritual to welcome her. The traditional priest chanted incantations and offered her a small cup of palm wine as part of the ceremony.
Wendy, who appeared uncomfortable, refused to drink the palm wine despite calls from people around her to accept it. Instead, she shook her head in disapproval while the oracle eventually poured the wine as libation….CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
