Two died in ‘Big Push’ project in Ayensudo

A construction site expected to represent development and progress has instead been thrown into mourning after a tragic accident at Ayensudo on the “Big Push” road project.

The incident, which occurred during routine earth-moving activities, led to the death of two engineers working on the project. One died instantly at the site, while the other passed away later at the hospital.

According to a report by Ebenezer Manso-Cudjoe on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the accident involved a bulldozer belonging to XNL Construction Company Limited. The company is one of the major contractors handling the dualisation of the Takoradi–Agona Junction road.

The second engineer survived the initial impact but suffered severe injuries. He was rushed to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment. Sadly, he later died while on admission, increasing the death toll to two.

The tragic incident has unsettled residents of the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality. Some members of the community have linked the accident to what they call “spiritual resistance,” claiming the contractors failed to consult traditional authorities before starting work.

Others who witnessed the incident described it as unusual, alleging that the bulldozer moved on its own without being started or operated. Authorities are expected to investigate both the technical and safety aspects of the accident as work on the project remains under public scrutiny…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
