KENYA – People adopt different ways to protect themselves and their belongings. While some rely on physical means like guns, others turn to more unconventional or spiritual methods.

In many African communities, what some might dismiss as superstition is often seen as a powerful form of protection, commonly referred to as voodoo or juju.
In Kenya, a woman learned this the hard way after she was attacked by a swarm of bees for allegedly stealing from a man she had spent the night with.
The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, is said to be involved in hookup services. After meeting with one of her clients, she reportedly took a large sum of money from him, though the exact amount has not been disclosed. What she did not know was that the man had a spiritual safeguard in place.
As she tried to escape, a swarm of bees clung to her face, effectively exposing her in public. According to reports, she later admitted to the theft, saying she thought the man would not retaliate.
The bees eventually dispersed after a local traditional healer, known as Wesonga, performed rituals to calm the situation.
