Mauricio Pochettino took up a prop to make a point in last night’s presser, pointing to the long list of names on the squad list on the back of the programme.
His point is that he’s had to use lots of youth players this season due to injuries. We get it, Mauricio! But today you had a strong team out there, and there will still comical errors. How many under 18s did you actually use today?
It was quite an odd thing to do at that late stage of the evening, just as the presser was winding down. He could have quickly made the point, but he really laboured it. Clearly he feels the treatment is harsh given the injuries he’s had, and despite trying to show patience in every pressure, he feels people don’t appreciate the battle it’s been.
