A pastor has been arrested in connection with the death of a married woman who came to him for assistance.

Pastor Eric Okyem was arrested by Akyem Oda police for the death of a married woman who came to him for assistance.

Mrs. Ama Nkansah Appiah, a 42-year-old married woman, visited her spiritual father in his home for assistance on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, and while performing his task, he bathed her in ‘spiritual oil’.

The woman’s body caught fire, and she was rushed to the Akyem Oda Government Hospital, which referred her to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, where she died.

When the deceased’s family contacted Pastor Okyem to find out what had happened, he denied any knowledge of the incident.

The pastor stated that he hadn’t seen the woman in over a month.

The family was led there by a sister of the deceased who once accompanied her to the pastor’s house, where they discovered traces of burns in the room, including the mattress his clients usually sit on when they come for spiritual help.
