Viral gay photos at Independence Arch: I’m sorry, I lied – Majority Chief Whip

Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has issued an apology for making false claims about photos showing two homosexual men taking intimate pictures at the Black Star Square.

He admitted that his earlier assertion—that the images were AI-generated—was based on misinformation.

Responding to a social media user who questioned his credibility, the South Dayi MP acknowledged his mistake and clarified that the photos were indeed real.

His post on X (formerly Twitter) read:

“Buhari, let me admit that upon watching this video you have supplied, I am convinced that the earlier information I received about this foto being AI-generated is inaccurate.
It means this truly happened in Ghana so I will join the call for this to be condemned in no uncertain terms.
Remember, I was & remain part of the strongest voices against this lgbtq+ activities in our country. The initial advise I got on the fotos, was wrong.
Apologies.”
