Watch King Teiko Tsuru II reaction after Supreme Court victory against Nii Tackie Adama Latse II
The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, took to the streets of Accra to celebrate after the Supreme Court ruled in his favour in a case challenging a court order that questioned his legitimacy.

In a unanimous decision, the Supreme Court overturned a Kumasi High Court order—which had been upheld by the Kumasi Court of Appeal—that aimed to reinstate Nii Tackie Adama Latse II into the National House of Chiefs’ register as Ga Mantse. This legal battle stemmed from a challenge by Nii Tackie Adama Latse II against King Teiko Tsuru II’s claim to the Ga Mantse stool.
Videos circulating online show the Ga Mantse and his entourage celebrating through the streets of Accra following the judgment.
King Teiko Tsuru II was seen waving a white cloth to an enthusiastic crowd while seated in his vehicle.
Vehicles in the king’s convoy sounded their horns, while passengers chanted praises in his honour.
Men walking alongside the convoy were also visibly jubilant.
About the case:
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II filed an application at the Supreme Court to challenge a Kumasi High Court ruling that called for Nii Tackie Adama Latse II to be reinstated in the National House of Chiefs’ records as Ga Mantse.
This followed a decision by the Court of Appeal in Kumasi, which dismissed an appeal by the National House of Chiefs and another party contesting the High Court’s ruling.
In his June 18, 2025 application, King Tsuru II asked the Supreme Court to set aside the High Court ruling.
Represented by his lawyer, Prof. Atudiwe Atupare, the Ga Mantse also sought the nullification of the Court of Appeal’s decision, which upheld the High Court’s judgment.
Prof. Atupare argued that the Court of Appeal erred in law by affirming the High Court’s decision, noting that the High Court lacked jurisdiction in the matter.
