Watch rare moment Ghanaians confront alleged wife-beating immigration officer
A group of Ghanaians have confronted a man alleged to be an officer of the Ghana Immigration Service over accusations that he assaulted his wife.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the group—made up mostly of men—was seen surrounding and attacking the man while he sat in a car with his wife.
The men were heard verbally confronting him, questioning his actions and hurling insults, particularly after noticing injuries on the woman’s face.
“Look at what you are doing. You can beat a woman for her mouth to deform in such a manner. Your behaviour is embarrassing,” one of the men was heard saying.
Others repeatedly condemned his actions, calling him “mad” and a “foolish man,” as they expressed anger over the alleged assault.
Some members of the group were also seen physically attacking the man and attempting to pull him out of the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the location and whether the man is indeed an officer of the Ghana Immigration Service, remain unclear. As of now, there has been no official statement from the Ghana Immigration Service or the police regarding the matter.
