Live footage shows Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro being escorted down the steps of a plane carrying him and his wife at Stewart International Airport, north of New York City.

At 4:21 on Saturday morning, President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that the United States had carried out a mission to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

The move surprised many, but sources familiar with the matter said planning for one of the most complex US operations in recent history had been ongoing for months and involved detailed rehearsals.

Elite US troops, including the Army’s Delta Force, built an exact replica of Maduro’s safe house and rehearsed how to enter the heavily fortified residence.
