We reaffirms commitment to two-term presidential limit – NDC

Speaking on the issue, NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah said the party remains fully committed to the 1992 Constitution, which the NDC played a key role in drafting. Asiedu Nketiah warned that any attempt to remove or weaken the presidential term limit would be dangerous, risk creating tension, undermine peace, and threaten Ghana’s democratic gains.
He also dismissed claims that President Mahama intends to pursue a third term, describing such reports as unfounded. According to him, President Mahama has consistently shown respect for the constitution and democratic principles.
The NDC Chairman urged the public to ignore rumours of a constitutional amendment, stressing that the party’s focus remains on governance reforms, economic recovery, national unity, and strengthening democratic institutions…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
