Write profane songs and dance with half-naked women and they call you a legend – Gospel singer trashes Lumba’s legacy
Gospel singer and television presenter Gina Asante has triggered widespread reactions online after questioning the legacy of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

The music icon, known privately as Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away in Accra on Saturday, July 26, 2025. His death was officially confirmed by his lawyer, Fati Ali Yallah, on behalf of the family.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Gina Asante, who hosts a music show on Pent TV, criticized the celebration of secular artists whose work, she claimed, undermines public morality.
“Write profane songs and dance with half-naked women to disturb the morality of the nation, and they call you a legend!” she posted.

Prior to this, she had questioned the contributions of secular musicians and why some are referred to as legends.
