Young man found dead in drain at Aboabo

The body of a young man, believed to be in his twenties, has been found in a drain at Aboabo in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

According to a report by Citinewsroom.com, the gruesome discovery was made on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Sumaila Dauda, a Unit Committee Member for the area, told Citi News that the body appeared to have been deliberately dumped in the drain after the victim was allegedly beaten to death.

“Someone informed me about the situation, so I rushed to the scene. Looking at the body, it appears the person was beaten to death. The police have since taken the body to the morgue,” he said.

Dauda described the incident as disturbing, adding that similar cases have been recorded in the area in the past.
