A/R: Pregnant BECE candidate delivers baby boy at exam centre

A pregnant candidate sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has delivered a baby boy at the Asenua Presbyterian JHS Examination Centre in Mamponteng, located in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred shortly after the student began writing her paper. She was immediately assisted and rushed to a nearby health facility, where she safely delivered her baby.

Education officials at the centre confirmed the development and expressed their admiration for the young mother’s courage and determination to take part in the national exams despite her condition.

Authorities say arrangements are being made to help her continue writing the rest of the papers if her health permits.
