Aba Dope breaks down in tears as she is hit by death
Ghanaian socialite and businesswoman Aba Dope is grieving the tragic death of Chef Ezzy, a former staff member of her 24-hour restaurant in Accra known as Food Gist. The news has shocked many who followed the rising journey of the young chef, who had once been a vibrant and committed part of Aba Dope’s growing food business.
In an emotional tribute shared on her social media platforms, Aba Dope expressed deep sorrow and paid glowing respects to the late chef, whom she described as not just an employee but a core pillar of her kitchen team.
According to her, Chef Ezzy had joined Food Gist with pure dedication, volunteering to be part of her team at a time when the business was still expanding.
Over the years, his hard work paid off—he rose through the ranks and became the highest-paid staff member on her payroll. Aba Dope praised him for his loyalty, work ethic, and consistency. She recalled how he went from being just another hopeful chef to becoming the heart of the kitchen operations at Food Gist.
However, she said she was caught by surprise when Chef Ezzy informed her that he had received a new job offer at a resort outside Accra. Though she was initially reluctant to let him go, she understood his desire to pursue new opportunities and gave him her blessing. The specific name of the resort or company he joined wasn’t revealed in her tribute.
Tragically, Chef Ezzy’s journey came to a heartbreaking end in a motor accident, according to Aba Dope. In a now-deleted post, she confirmed the cause of his death, saying she was devastated upon learning the details surrounding the accident.
What made the pain even more unbearable for her, she revealed, was discovering that Chef Ezzy had not been paid his salary at his new job for nearly seven months before his untimely death. She said this added to the heartbreak, especially knowing how hardworking and loyal he was. For a young man who gave his all to the craft, she found it deeply upsetting that he was not fairly treated at his new workplace.
“He was more than a worker. He was like my little brother. It hurts that after all his hard work, he died broke and betrayed. He deserved better,” Aba Dope wrote.
